Nearly 120 Pets Find Homes during Labor of Love


Last weekend during Halifax Humane Society’s Labor of Love promotion, nearly 120 pets found new forever homes, more than doubling last year’s total!  The promotion celebrated everything our pets do to make our lives better, while also reducing adoption rates to help even more pets find homes.

Hidden Treasure Tiki Bar & Grill is the site of this month's HHS Yappy Hour! Hidden Treasure is located at 5993 S. Ridgewood Avenue in Port Orange. The event takes place Wednesday, September 10 from 5:30-7:30pm, perfect for a get-together after work.

Help HHS Lead the Way for Community Animals


In 2013, Halifax Humane Society continued to take major steps toward a brighter future for our community's animals.  We are providing more happy endings for our animals than ever before, and are creating programs that provide more exposure than ever for our pets.  HHS is also working proactively to combat the pet overpopulation crisis in our area.  We created a video to allow our friends in the community to take a brief look at how HHS is impacting lives every day, and our vision going forward.

HHS Now Offering Dog Obedience Classes


Need help getting your dog to listen?  Halifax Humane Society now offers dog obedience classes!  Classes are available on Saturday mornings right here at the Halifax Humane Society animal shelter.  The entire course, which consists of four classes, costs just $35 for dogs adopted from HHS, and $45 for others.  Similar classes often cost well over $100 elsewhere!  To sign your dog up for obedience class, please call HHS at (386) 274-4703 and press "1" for our adoption lobby.
