Fee Waived Adult Dog Adoption Event June 21-23
Shelter Beyond Capacity and Needs Help

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Halifax Humane Society (HHS) is beyond capacity and needs the community to help by adopting an adult dog this weekend. This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all fees to adopt have been waived. As an incentive, HHS is offering the following for large adult dogs, one-year of age plus adoptions.

  • Adoption fee is waived, but all adoption procedures and verifications are still required.
  • Adoption includes 6-months of Elanco flea & tick, and heartworm preventative.
  • Adoption includes 40 lbs. of Hills Science Premium Dog Food.
  • Adoption includes the spay/neuter procedure and all up-to-date vaccinations
  • Adoption includes a starter treat kit.

If purchased individually, these items would cost over $500.00.

Please visit the shelter located at 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124 (I-95 to the LPGA Blvd. exit, go west to the first stop light and turn right), on Friday, June 21 through Sunday June 23 between 12 noon and 6 pm to adopt your large adult dog.

“The homeless adult dog crisis is impacting shelters across our state. Your adoption of a large dog will free up space that can be used for another dog waiting for life-saving services. Dogs don’t belong in shelters; they belong in loving homes. Please visit the shelter to adopt and take advantage of the incentives being offered,” said Barry KuKes, Interim Community Outreach Director.

Halifax Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit organization servicing the Greater Daytona Beach area in Volusia County, Florida since 1937.  It exists to protect animals from cruel, neglectful, and exploitative treatment.  Halifax Humane Society is an open-door animal shelter that refuses service to no animal in need.

As one of the largest humane societies in Florida, Halifax Humane Society provides a full array of humane programs that allow it to provide service to over 25,000 animals each year.  Through generous donations of time and money, the Halifax Humane Society provides shelter for lost and abandoned animals, delivers humane education to its citizens, creates a pet-friendly environment in its local community, and prevents overpopulation of animals by offering affordable spay/neuter opportunities.
